It’s been six months since the last time I shared a personal post around here, and I’m thrilled to make more of an effort to bring them back in an attempt to bring lifestyle blogging back to our community and get to know you guys, my favorite readers, a little bit more!
The last three months have literally flown by. January started off strong with the launch of Kickstart Your List, February was creating content for the course and trying to figure out what’s next and starting a rebrand, and March has been getting a little more intentional with everything, and it’ll end this weekend with my first 2-day workshop.
A MOVE UPDATE When we started 2016, I had no idea what to expect with this year. As some of you may know, my husband is in the military, and honestly, it’s been a lot of chaos with his work. We finally got used to his rotating shift work and then learned that we’d be here in South Carolina for two extra months. We were originally supposed to be moving during this month, but now it’s in the month of May. I won’t lie to y’all – I was thrilled to hear we got to stay longer. I absolutely adore it here, and we’ll both be sad to leave so we’re trying to enjoy it while we can and hope that we’ll end up back here in a few years.
LAUNCHING A NEW DESIGNI’ve been working through My Own Irresistible Brand + Build Your Blog Blueprint for the last month, and I’m so happy I grabbed both of these courses. MOIB has helped me realize that I want to be doing more than just design for my clients, and BYBB has helped me create a better strategy for my blog. I’m in the last couple of weeks for both of them, and I’m really excited about what’s next. I’m planning on merging my sites and launching a new design by the end of May, hopefully! We’ll see.
READING + WATCHING I’m so sad to share that I haven’t been reading this year. I finished one book at the beginning of the year, and honestly haven’t picked up my Kindle or another book since then. I grabbed Pretty Happy from Target, and I’m planning on getting Balancing in Heels soon, so maybe I’ll get back into that soon. We have, on the other hand, been watching tv. We’re planning on finishing House of Cards tonight, then we have Daredevil up next. We watch the Walking Dead every weekend, so we’re both sad that it’s ending this weekend. I’ve seen lots of good shows and movies adding to Netflix and HBOGO, so I might have some binge-watching days coming up soon!
IN OTHER NEWS I’ve purchased 3 new prints for my office; I’ll be creating a gallery wall in our next place. Zoey is doing well and loves playing with all of her toys. I recently discovered Vanilla Caramel Chai Latte k-cups, and I’m obsessed. I recently got this phone case in the mail, and it makes being waaaay behind the times with my phone (I still have a 5s) much more enjoyable. I’m trying out life with a bullet journal this week thanks to this post, and this recipe is on our meal plan for next week.
I’m loving lately –
I’ve been following Corina for a while, and I absolutely love her notes on how to live a happier life. I can relate to what she’s feeling – even if I’m a few years behind her.
Megan’s post + spreadsheets to help plan your content, goals, and launch timeline has blown. up. I made a similar version of these for my own brand, and instantly felt a weight lift from my shoulders. I feel so much better about getting things done!
The Gilgers’ posted their updated kitchen, and swoon! I’ve always thought that white cabinets might be too much, but this definitely changed my mind.
One of my best gal pal’s, Krista, is finally going full-time this week, and I couldn’t be more excited for her, especially since it’s just 6 months after she launched her business. She shared 12 amazing lessons she learned in those first months, and I truly appreciate how transparent she was.
